Edward F. Zigler, Ph.D., is Sterling Professor of Psychology Emeritus at Yale University and the Director, Emeritus, of the Edward Zigler Center in Child Development and Social Policy at Yale University. He is one of the founders of the field of applied developmental psychology and pioneered the discipline of developmental psychopathology.
Dr. Zigler has been widely influential in policy development, and was responsible for administering the nation's Head Start program and led efforts to initiate other innovative programs such as Home Start, Education for Parenthood, the Child Development Associate, and the Child and Family Resource Program.
